If you want to have good social skills, it is important to learn to talk to people like it's no big deal. This should be true wherever you find yourself. It doesn't matter if the person is old, young, attractive, not attractive, the same gender as you, or whatever. This brings me to my tip for today:
MINGLE TIP #15: TALK TO PEOPLE WHEREVER YOU GO
Even if you are just saying hello or making a casual throwaway comment, talking to people wherever you go will help your social skills. Here are some thoughts:
(1) It will be easier to talk to strangers in the long run. The more you talk to people, the easier it will become.
(2) It will help you in pressure situations. If you talk to people all the time, you will take the pressure off when you are in a stressful situation or talking to someone who is very attractive. They are just another person that you talk to.
(3) It will become reflex. When you are in the habit of talking to everyone it eventually almost becomes a reflex so you don't even have to think about it.
(4) Talking to people will help your public speaking skills. If you have trouble speaking in public you should try to get as much practice speaking to people as possible.
The key to talking to strangers is to make it casual. Anybody can do it.
UPDATE: (5) The better you are at talking to strangers, the better chance you have of being yourself in new dating situations. I am a big believer that a lot of failures in dating do not occur because of a lack of game, but because of a lack of ability to relax and be yourself. Improved social skills can help you overcome this problem.
