So Apparently my list of 101 Mingle Tips has not solved all of the dating and social skills problems in the world. There are still a lot of lonely, poorly mannered, and socially uncomfortable people out there. So here I am. Back with more tips for you, as I update my original posts. New information is below the original post.
This may not be the sexiest of my 101 mingle tips, but it has been an important one for me for a long time. Even when I was in my early twenties, I was always careful to be well rested before going out. This brings me to my tip for today:
MINGLE TIP #67: TAKE A NAP BEFORE GOING OUT
(1) Sometimes the best activities go late into the night. There is nothing worse than wanting to stay out longer but being too tired to pull it off. You may not even be planning to stay out late, but every now and then you just run across something that would be fun to stay out and do. Be prepared.
(2) It's always good to be mentally sharp in social situations. I want to be in total control of myself and my decision making when I'm out. Drinking too much or not getting enough sleep is never good in social situations.
(3) Don't depend on the liquid courage to be able to do things socially (talk to women, dance, etc.). Needing a drink to find social comfort is lame. I want to be able to do these things under my own power and confidence. Good grief.
(4) Being rested will help you look and feel your best. Looking and feeling your best will of course make you more attractive in general.
So, if you know that you will be getting out tonight, take a short break and sleep a little. Even a 20 minute nap can do wonders for you.
UPDATE: (5) Go out sometimes even if you don't feel like it. We aren't always going to be in our best mood. Unless you are REALLY down, sometimes it's good to get out even when you aren't quite feeling up to it. I have forced myself to go out many a night when I may have rather stayed in and been lazy, and often been glad I did.
