The Bible is full of verses about social skills and relationships. Some of them may even be the opposite of what you think is best. I am going to explore some of these verses in a few of my upcoming posts. Feel free to disagree.
BIBLE INSPIRED MINGLE TIPS: BE BOLD BUT UNDER CONTROL
Life is too short to be timid and fearful. Sometimes we have to take risks if we want to reach a goal or accomplish something. This is especially true when it comes to dating and social situations. There are times when being bold is the only chance we have of being successful.
Being bold can have great results, but it might also mean that we are risking failure, embarrassment or rejection. This is why it's important to be under control and keep our dignity when the time comes for boldness. The more under control we are, the easier it is to handle the times when things don't work out.
One of the biggest lessons that I learned growing up was to be careful to not be out of control bold. I used to think that boldness alone would always be impressive and get results. This is definitely not the case. Misguided boldness can easily backfire.
The Bible mentions the importance of boldness many times. It says that "the righteous are as bold as a lion." (Proverbs 28:1) This is a good reminder for us that it's okay to shake things up every now and then. A lion is usually associated with extreme boldness and power. There is no fear involved whatsoever.
So, don't hesitate to be bold if you think the situation calls for it. Don't be shy or afraid to take a risk every now and then. Be bold with class and you can feel good about yourself regardless of the outcome.
