Some guys are afraid to do anything that might make them look unmanly. They seem to have a certain "tough-guy" rep that needs protecting. This is a mistake. Don't get me wrong, I am not suggesting that men suddenly shave off their beards, stop working with tools, and begin neglecting their cars. I am simply saying that if they were really secure in themselves some things wouldn't threaten their manliness. This brings me to my tip for today:
TIP #88: MEN: BE WILLING TO DANCE, COOK, DO YOGA, ETC.
Being willing to risk your manly reputation can have some benefits. Don't be afraid to do things that may have "womanly" connections to them (dancing, cooking, yoga, gardening, shopping, for instance).
Here are some thoughts:
(1) Doing things that women like means that you will be where the women are. Duh.
(2) You might actually find something that you enjoy doing. Maybe you will like some of the things I mentioned, maybe you won't. There is nothing wrong with not liking something. Just don't avoid trying new things because you are afraid of how you might look doing them.
(3) You will separate yourself from the pack. You are ahead of the game when can be the guy who is willing to do things that most other guys are not willing to do. Making yourself stand out in a positive way is always a good thing.
(4) It's good to not be all about you all the time. When you do get into a relationship, being willing to do things out of your comfort zone because you know the other person likes them makes you look really good.
So there you have it. Don't be afraid to try some activities every now and then that are often considered female type things to do. If you start feeling a little too sensitive afterward, don't hesitate to go build and/or break something to get back into your manly mindset.
UPDATE: Being willing to get out of your comfort zone is attractive. Let's face it, being known for playing it safe all the time is not going to fill up your appointment book. Be willing to take a risk or two. Do something you wouldn't normally do. Live a little!
