So Apparently my list of 101 Mingle Tips has not solved all of the dating and social skills problems in the world. There are still a lot of lonely, poorly mannered, and socially uncomfortable people out there. So here I am. Back with more tips for you. (*New info in blue italics)
I have decided to give updates and new information on each of my original 101 Tips For Social Success With Class.
You can find the updates in blue italics at the end of the original post at the bottom of this page. Happy mingling!
My last tip was so heavy (Tip #43: Don't. Look. At. Porn), I decided to go light for this one. That brings me to my tip for today:
MINGLE TIP #44: MEN: DON'T DRIVE A WHITE CAR (IF YOU'RE A GUY)
I once heard a study that showed that a high percentage of women thought that white cars were feminine, and thus unattractive for men. The crazy thing about the study is that it wasn't even asking about cars or car color. Women just volunteered this information as being a turn off.
This seems a little silly to me, but you never know. Psychological studies show that people who buy white cars are fastidious (meaning uptight). I guess. Maybe they just want to look clean and aren't afraid to have to wash their car often. Or maybe white was the only color available. Who knows?
Most people would probably say that the color of your car doesn't matter, but is there something subconscious going on here? At the very least, a dirty car might make you look like a slob, and white is probably the color that shows the most dirt. Being uptight or sloppy is probably not something that you want to project, so maybe there is something to this.
I am not sure if I believe this one or not, but why risk it, right?
UPDATE: I have been car shopping since I wrote this post and I won't even consider buying a white car anymore. I guess this one is inside my head now. Like I said in the original post, maybe there is something to this, maybe not. But why risk it. There are enough other nice colors for cars out there that it is not really much of a sacrifice to take white out of consideration.
