People often make the mistake of thinking that they should only mingle in specific situations. If you take the approach that I have been discussing in this blog, the location should not be that big of an issue. That brings me to my tip for today
MINGLE TIP #12: DON'T BE SCARED TO MINGLE ANYTIME, ANYWHERE
Here are a few things that should not stop you from talking to people:
(1) Being with your friends and/or family. So what if grandma is with you and you want to talk to a stranger. Go for it. It's not that big of a deal.
(2) Being at a random location. People have met their soul mates at the grocery store, the DMV, the laundry mat, and the bowling alley. So be prepared to talk to people anywhere. You never know.
(3) The time of day. Don't make the mistake of thinking that you have to be out at a bar or a party late on Friday or Saturday night before you can start meeting people. Maybe it's 7 AM at the gas station before work. Maybe it's noon and you are at lunch. Don't let the time of day stop you from starting up a conversation with someone who looks interesting.
If you want to be comfortable in social situations, you should try to get in the habit of talking to people wherever you find yourself. That way, if and when the time comes that you see a person that you really want to talk to, it won't be that big of a deal.
