I am starting a new four-part series called "Mingle Tips A-Z." I am going to give a tip for each letter of the alphabet. Most of the topics will focus on dating, but many of them can be applied to social situations of all kinds as well.
THIS WEEK: H-N
H--Have respect for yourself. Don't do anything in your dating activities that you will feel badly about later. Don't compromise your values or act like a fool to try to win someone over. Good grief.
I--Increase your number of contacts. Get out and meet people. If everyone listed in your phone is a family member or ex, it's time to get out and mingle.
J--Join a gym. Don't go there with the intention of being the gym player, but hey, if you are looking for healthy people the gym is where they go.
K--Keep your eyes open. Be ready to casually talk to people anytime, anywhere.
L--Learn to brush off failure. So you tried to talk to a woman and she gave you the cold shoulder or was rude to you. So what. That reflects badly on her, not you. Keep your focus on looking for connections, not someone who will give you approval.
M--Make yourself available. The other side of the story of being willing to talk to people anywhere you go is to make yourself open to be talked to yourself. Smile at people, make eye contact as much as possible. Neither one is an invitation to marriage. Stop making everything such a big deal.
N--Never give false compliments to try to win someone over. Dishonesty is not the way to start things off. Trying to kiss up is definitely not the way to start things off. Any more questions?
